Introduction to Into the Wild

Our class is moving into our new novel called Into the Wild by John Krakauer. This book is about a boy named Chris McCandless who in the beginning of the book, he hitchhiked to Alaska and had to live there in the wilderness with limited materials and a lack of food and water. He lived there for over one hundred days during the summer but he ended up dying with his body being found in September. McCadless ended up living from shooting game and traveling long distances for berries to eat. Chris even tried to leave one day, but his route was blocked by a melted river, so he could not pass. Chris also wrote a journal that explained his feelings and what he was doing in Alaska. The source to Chris's death was from him eating the seeds of this mysterious plant that contained toxic and poison, which caused deathly symptoms like starvation. Chris eventually died, but he survived about three months in the Alaskan wilderness, which is quit impressive. So overall, this book is very interesting and it will hook you to keep reading on. So join our class on this epic adventure into the Alaskan wilderness!
